Continuing with the theme; is good R&B music making a comeback? Well here’s more proof that the previous statement may have some merit and I have a special treat for you guys this week.

This singer, songwriter and pianist from Philadelphia, PA took an interest in singing at a very young age. “Vivian Green” has credit for writing “Dear God” by “Boyz toMen” for their 1997 Album Evolution.

At age nineteen, Vivian became a backup singer for Jill Scott.  Then, in 2002 Vivian signed with Columbia Records when she released her debut Album “A Love Story”, which featured the number one single “Emotional Rollercoaster”.  In 2005, she appeared on “Cyndi Laupers’s” “ The Body Acoustic” lending her voice to tracks “I’ll be your River” and “Sisters of Avalon”.   Green recorded her second studio album entitled “Vivian”, which featured the hit lead single titled “Gotta Go, Gotta Leave” (Tired).

In 2007, Vivian announced she would be recording her third album on “Koch Records”. The album entitled “Beautiful” released in April of 2010. This album explored an array of loves, the ins and outs of being in Love at different stages of being in love.

Vivian released her fourth album entitled “The Green Room” in 2012. The lead single from this album was titled “Anything Out There”.

Now, she’s back yet again with another hot single from her Fifth studio album slated for release in August of this year. The track is entitled “Get Right Back to My Baby” and this is surely going to be blaring in all the clubs this spring and summer. The track enlists a sample from Frankie Beverly & Maze’s classic hit “Before I let go”. Vivian lends her vocals over this groovy dance beat with heart felt emotions expressed throughout the track. It really gets you in the mood to party and let your hair down. It’s the perfect track to dress to before going out with girls for a girl’s night out.  Listening to this song gives me hope that the surging movement to bring back good R&B music is in full swing. I can’t wait to hear the rest of this album. So, for you guys that have been looking for that good ole soulful R&B, check the latest from Vivian Green. Remember support the Artist and their craft.
